South Downs
22nd to 25th April 2026 (Sold Out)
For this workshop we will have two bases – one night near Arundel and two nights near Newhaven. Over the course of the workshop, we will explore various locations along the length of the South Downs National Park, including the coast. Expect to photograph bluebell woods, dramatic coastline and beautiful inland landscapes. The main purpose of this workshop is to capture the rolling downland landscapes that characterise the South Downs National Park. This will be our main target subject whenever the conditions are right. We will have two photography sessions each full day to make the most of the best light around sunrise and sunset, with a rest period in the middle of the day. Expect some very early starts (and finishes) at this time of the year! I have chosen to run this trip during the week to benefit from there (hopefully) being fewer people about.
The workshop will start at 3pm on 22nd April, after meeting at the hotel, and end around 12pm on 25th April. There will be six 5–6-hour photography sessions in total.
As with all my UK landscape workshops, this trip is limited to only three participants. With only two fellow photographers, you will all be assured a chance to make the most of each location. I will also be able to offer advice on a more individual basis as required by each participant. Please bear in mind that the South Downs are hilly and there will be times when we’ll need to walk along narrow, rough and muddy paths to reach some locations.
